Adaptive Theatre Portfolio
My Teaching Phillosophy
As a disabled teaching artist, I am incredibly passionate about bringing adaptive theatre experiences, specifically in technical theatre, to individuals with physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. My specialties include children and adults with Autism, POTS, hEDS, PCOS, and related conditions. I have always been passionate about teaching as a way to give back to my community, and I want others to experience the joy and confidence that theatre has given me. My approach to education is individualized to each student, but places emphasis on helping the student develop the practical skills they need to succeed in the industry, in addition to the communication, processing, and emotional regulation skills theatre can provide us. Theatre helps us understand humanity and the human experience, and can also help us develop social-emotional skills that are vital to function in society. I find that everyone has the ability to succeed and excel inside them, and that positive reinforcement and adaptive techniques can go a long way in creating an inclusive space.
As a theatre artist myself, I have experience primarily in Costumes, Hair and Makeup, but also in Scenic (especially painting), Directing, and Stage Management. I graduate with my BFA in Technical Production from TXST University in May of 2026, and plan to continue my educational journey by attending the University of Maryland this fall to earn my MFA in Costume Design. I have worked at several professional theatres outside of Texas State, including Maples Repertory Theatre and Timberlake Playhouse, in Hair and Makeup and Costumes focused roles. In February of 2026, I was awarded the Randy Lutz Allied Crafts Award and the Don Childs DTM Cross-Discipline Collaboration Award at the Region 6 ACTF Awards for my work on Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really.
